General Rules

DIRECTING HATE OR DISRESPECT towards cultural/ethnic/social groups in/outside the server will not under any circumstances be tolerated! We strive to create a community that is non-toxic and friendly; any members acting maliciously towards others will not be treated lightly. Vagueposting or flamebaiting is absolutely not permitted!!OUT-OF-SERVER DISCOURSE, like other conflicts, will not be accepted into the server. Should any number of members join the server and find that they cannot get along due to issues stemming from elsewhere, they’ll either have to sort it out between themselves or be kicked.POLITICS AND OTHER DRAMAS are not to be discussed in the server. If you think a topic may be controversial, by all means ask a moderator before bringing it up! Any spreading of drama that is not relevant to the server and has the potential to be harmful to others (or violate other rules) will be reprimanded.NSFW JOKES AND PROFANITY are to be used strictly in moderation. It’s perfectly fine to crack a joke here and there or use a curse word or two, but there’s a point in which it gets to be too inappropriate. Use your common sense!! This server does not support ERP, sexual/explicit imagery, or strong vulgar language. Remember! There are minors in the server!TRIGGERING TOPICS should always be accompanied by spoilers and a handy TW! Triggering content can include, but is not always limited to: flashing images, descriptive violence, and mentions of SA or SH. Messages containing this content without the appropriate warnings may be deleted. And, as always, keep things in moderation! We try not to be limiting, but be considerate of others!!STAY ON TOPIC. If you ever feel that your conversation in a chat is deviating too far from its purpose, kindly move to the appropriate channel(s)! The only real exceptions to this rule are the two general chats we host.IF YOU USE TONE TAGS, use them properly!!! Furthermore, do not expect people to use them around you unless you tell folks that you need them beforehand! And, even then, their use is not something we can enforce. Try to be as open minded and understanding as you can when it comes to others misunderstanding tone.RESPECT OTHERS IN THE SERVER, regardless of if they’re mods, veteran members, or new arrivals! Everyone here in OWAW plays an important part in keeping the server’s community thriving. But, in order for things to flow smoothly, we’ve all got to get along!TAKING CREDIT FOR AI WORKS is not by any means permissible! While we do begrudgingly allow the use of AI faceclaims, writing that is made/aided by artificial intelligence will not fly here. It’s alright to make posts showing off generations so long as it’s made clear that they’re not your handiwork. But, members caught using AI to assist with their character submissions may face severe consequences (and immediate submission denial).PARTNERSHIPS ARE OPEN to any parties interested! We do not have a particular standard set in stone and adore helping out the little guy! Servers containing content that violate any of the rules on this list will not be accepted.AS FOR RULES NOT INCLUDED, there's really no way to cover all the bases. If you think you're doing something you shouldn't, stop it!! Mods have the right to make their own judgements and warn/kick/ban you even if you do not directly violate any of the rules stated here.

Roleplay Rules

Your OC/CC has to be accepted before they can be used in roleplay! If mods see you using them in the chats before that happens, the roleplay will immediately be voided. You can tell when your character is accepted when a mod either says so in the submission chat, or you see their entry posted in the accepted submissions channel.Try to keep your own actions/dialogue concise and grammatically correct! Furthermore, if you're confused with someone's wording, don't be afraid to ask for elaboration!Cannot stress this enough, NO METAGAMING!! "Metagaming is a term used in role-playing games, which describes a player's use of real-life knowledge concerning the state of the game to determine their character's actions, when said character has no relevant knowledge or awareness under the circumstances."Do try to be relatively literate. Each reply must be at least 2-3 sentences long, and anything shorter will not be tolerated. Additionally, if your roleplay is consistently kept up at multi-paragraph level and you reply with the bare minimum (without good reason and communicating with your partner), you could also be given a reminder by mods and need to lengthen it.Any action beyond hand holding, kissing, etc.. (aka: sexual) is prohibited. Sexual remarks and jokes are alright if in moderation and in character. Actions made by an adult towards a minor with romantic/sexual intent are absolutely forbidden.Stay in character! The little trip up here and there is fine, but think about what your character would do in situations! (Note that there can be situations in which one would deviate/develop from their established personality. This, under the right circumstances, is perfectly fine.)Timeskips are never permitted unless all the players currently in the roleplay agree to it. Even a skip of a few minutes could be problematic to other players if they were in the middle of something.The controlling of the government, police force, important npcs, etc... Is to be left up to the mods or anyone who got permission from a mod for that specific roleplay. If you were previously greenlit and move on to a new roleplay, that permission will not carry over.It is required that if you’re starting a rp where you know lives or limbs could be at risk, all players that are involved are made aware of that beforehand and asked if they’re okay with it. Additionally, if your character charges into a dangerous scenario knowingly (or at least, you are aware ooc), they are liable to be killed or maimed. Staff will interfere if things are unfair at all, but please be prepared and aware when your characters could be at risk. On the other hand, if the character is unexpectedly put in a life or death situation, permission is required before they can be killed or maimed. Again, though, make sure they're informed of the risk regardless.You may rp as a character up to two times simultaneously as long as it's in a different city/category (Kamino, UA dorms+Campus, Coast, etc...) and can be explained timeline wise (Dms, Groupchats, and The internet CAN be an exception to this rule) Additionally, do not use texting channels to relay info about a rp your character is actively partaking in (in person) unless they physically take their phone out.You may only contact another character via the dm channels if your own character obtained their number through roleplay or would've already had it (students will have other students numbers, people in group chats will have each other's numbers.. etc...if you think you character would have another's, entirely out of roleplay, be sure to contact the player of the other character.There will be absolutely no server plot related DM roleplays! If you want to roleplay in secret, please confer with a mod to arrange a private thread/channel.ALWAYS, ALWAYS ASK BEFORE JOINING A ROLEPLAY! (doesn't apply to texting)if you want to start a roleplay that is NOT CANON to the server's plot (which is allowed) you must state that in the chat you intend to roleplay in before you begin! Once it's set as not canon, though, you cannot make it canon later on! You also cannot make a roleplay non-canon after it has already begun! Please use this wisely!!!!! These "non-canon" roleplays will still take up your spots (just so that we don't have too many roleplays going on at once) so please keep that in mind!!!All villains who are rank B or above and noted to be violent come with automatic PTK or maim (as long as its within reason). In order to roleplay alongside a villain like this as any role, you must be alright with that (unless you discuss things with the player beforehand and arrange a scenario where that automatic risk would not be present).Always ask your partner for permission to void/end a rp! Also, be aware that those are two very different things:
Voided = Roleplay is cancelled and basically never happened in terms of the plot.
Ended = roleplay is considered to have come to a conclusion naturally, just not played out completely.We're currently situated at the point in the mha canon just before overhaul stirs up a ruckus and gets his compound raided by the heroes. (Just after the meeting with the league) This will allow the yakuza to be out of jail all while having bad relations with the league because we love our drama (But exceptions to that plot can be arranged, such as eri being free)

Character Rules

You may notice that 1-A/B have limited seats on the claimed characters list. You are permitted one 1-A OR 1-B (you may only have one at a time) oc and no more than that as to ensure other people have the opportunity. For every two boosts this server gets, we’ll add one more 1-A and 1-B slot! This only applies for the highest number of boosts we have had at once, though.OCs are meant to be original! Crossovers and those too heavily "inspired" will be denied!! Your OC also must be a BNHA OC above all else!!!Picrews, commissions, and your own art are heavily encouraged for FCs! (AI art is also allowed so long as it is cohesive) Alternatively, it's perfectly fine if you use other people's art or characters from other media (so long as they aren’t too popular, like Tanjuro, Gojo, Denji, etc..) as faceclaims. Please try to properly look into the artist of any fc you use. Do not use the art if the artist's posts violate basic DNI criteria, please.Relatives of canons are permitted! BUT, the canon must be claimed and the player must give you permission beforehand. Also, these relations have to be reasonable, well thought out, and not conflict with the canon. "Important" canon characters cannot have original, player-controlled children/siblings/parents (npc parents mentioned in docs are okay)! These characters include, but aren't limited to: Deku, Bakugo, Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Aizawa, Dabi, AFO, Allmight, Toga, and Nezu!!For the love of all things holy, go to our character help chats if you need character help/advice/etc... While mods are usually available, give these chats a whirl before going to DMs.If you're filling out a submission for a canon, never copy paste info from their wiki page! You're free to use it as inspiration, but try to go off of what you can learn for yourself from seeing them, not what other people tell you!!! THIS ALSO APPLIES FOR AI-WRITTEN WORKS. If mods find out you're using AI in your submission outside of the (permitted) fc, it will immediately be denied.If your character's backstory covers or otherwise involves heavier topics, always add trigger warnings somewhere where people will see them! Additionally, these backstories must be detailed and respectful, not just a few sentences mentioning how your oc was kidnapped and traumatised or something. Also, always know that there is a sort of common sense based limit when it comes to these types of pasts! We do not want characters making our members uncomfortable, after all. If a mod tells you your backstory is too dark (and unnecessarily so), please do not push back on the matter.The server needs space to grow, and we don't want all our character spots taken up! Please do not take more than 3 canon characters. You can take up to 4 characters total as of right now (a mix of up to 4 ocs & up to 3 canons. For example, you could have 3 canons and 1 oc, 4 ocs and 0 canons, 2 canons and 2 ocs...etc...).
